Presidio is a context aware, pluggable and customizable data protection and PII data anonymization service for text and images.

The Presidio project is transitioning from a Microsoft-owned project to an independent, community-governed open source project under the Data Privacy Stack GitHub organization. Its new repository is github.com/data-privacy-stack/presidio.
New Presidio Analyzer container releases are published to GitHub Container

ghcr.io/data-privacy-stack/presidio-analyzer.
This MCR repository remains available as a legacy location, but
mcr.microsoft.com/presidio-analyzer:latest no longer represents the newest
Presidio release. For quick tests, use
ghcr.io/data-privacy-stack/presidio-analyzer:latest; for production, pin an
explicit GHCR release tag.

Warning: Presidio can help identify sensitive/PII data in un/structured text. However, because Presidio is using trained ML models, there is no guarantee that Presidio will find all sensitive information. Consequently, additional systems and protections should be employed.
