What is in it:
The image is created to be absolutely minimal and for the purposes of being triggered when security updates come out for the OS automatically. This means that downstream images can be updated with the latest OS patches without needing to run apt-get update or similar, reducing overall build times.
Basic bash logic is used to download updates and ensure they work in case of a download failure.
How run it
To run this image, just pull it and then run it from any docker capable system.
docker pull alexwitherspoon/debian docker run -i -t alexwitherspoon/debian /bin/bash
How to build images using it:
Include this in your Dockerfile, it will use this image upstream as your source.
