docker-birdcatcher

Requirements

Auth File

Edit the auth.py to match your twitter-developer credentials. Read the originial documentation if you have any questions on twitter-development applications.

HashTag Filter file

Create a file called FILTER in your outputDir. This should be a line delimited file that contains the HashTags you want to search.

Usage

docker run \ -v /path/to/auth.py:/birdcatcher/auth.py \ -v /path/to/storage/for/tweets:/birdcatcher/outputDir \ -t bgulla/birdcatcher

Shoutout to twitter-python and tweepy. I mearly just created a Docker wrapper around their tools.
