Short Description
automated liferay build
Full Description

Contains useful docker files for Sci-GaIA Winter school :

  • JDK
  • Liferay 6.1.1 bundle with glassfish
  • Catania Science Gateways Grid and Cloud engines
  • MySQL Database

These three layers are the components in the Science Gateway Stack. They are covered in Lesson 2 of the Winter school. Three different base operating systems are used :

  1. Ubuntu 14:04
  2. CentOS 6
  3. Alpine Linux

The JDK, Liferay and GridEngine components are web-facing, whilst the db component is private, so we usually refer to two differnet containers :

  1. web
  2. db

which are linked with Docker Compose (see app.yml)

The JDK and JRE are the lowest-lying components of the stack. There are several options for docker :

  1. Oracle Java 7
  2. OpenJDK 7
  3. OpenJDK 8

Liferay and Glassfish

The Glassfish application server is used to run the Liferay application. This is obtained from the Liferay website and glassfish is bundled with the application

Grid and Cloud Engine

The final component is the CSGF Grid and Cloud Engine
