Dotnet based Aruba Networks ALE Parse and Output Service

This ALE Parse and output container application is designed to connect to a websocket proxy service, available as a container at bvdx/websocksrv and output all available Aruba Analytic and Location Engine (ALE) topics. These topics are translated from protobuf into JSON format events and are written as log files, the resulting log files can be stored in the container or on the host.

 Note: Please run the container bvdx/websocksrv first i.e. docker pull bvdx/websocksrv

This Container pair is designed to demonstrate JSON format output of Aruba Networks Analytic and Location Engine data (ALE) available with supported Aruba Networks products (Wi-Fi Access points and Controllers) .This container pair is not published or authored by HPE Aruba Networks.

  v1: ALE protobuf schema supported.

Base image pulled from microsoft/dotnet:runtime

Note: Network Connectivity on a docker user defined network required. Ports used below:
  1. TCP Connection outbound on destination port 12000 to DNS host websocksrv


  1. Create docker user defined network:
    docker network create userdefined01
  2. Docker Command Line:
    Note: A destination directory will be created on the host system as /var/shared 
    to store JSON Output

docker run -itd --name alejsonapp1 --network userdefined01 -v /var/shared:/var/shared bvdx/alejsonapp1:v1
