7zip extraction tool built into Docker
- A Docker build for 7zip
- Docker :whale: - if you are on Mac, checkout the Docker Toolbox
To build the Docker image
- Build the image using docker
$ docker build -t 7z-docker .
- Run the 7z container, mounting a local directory to extract or create archives
$ docker run -v $(pwd):/root/ --rm 7z-docker 7z x archive.7z
Alternatively, you can use the Docker Hub automated build
$ docker pull danielwhatmuff/7z-docker
File issues in GitHub to report bugs or issue a pull request to contribute.
this will extract ubuntu .7z placed in current folder and target of extraction would be current folder:
docker run -v $(pwd):/root/ --rm danielwhatmuff/7z-docker 7z x -o/root/ /root/Ubuntu_16.10_Yakkety-VB-64bit.7z
Hi there. Thanks for the docker image but I dont really understand how to use it. I was hoping that you could break down the docker run command for me- From ddocker docs run command, I get that you are bind mounting the (pwd) volume to /root/ in the container but from there on I am clueless. Could you please explain? Thanks in advance!
