This docker image is based on alpine linux, which makes it extremely small.
It's a fork of robsharp/rpi-samba, but samba security level is set to "user" instead of "share".
Dockerfile and run.sh can be found in my github repository:
There you can also find documentation to get you up and running, as well as a simple start script that shows you how to start and stop the container.
Special thanks to charlesmknox, who fixed an issue, I didn't even know of.
Hey nialedm, thanks for your comments, I will look into that. I experienced the same problem but didn't find a satisfying solution.
Found, added the --net=host to be able to see the host in network places.
Not sure if the -s command could be scripted in a Docker-compose file (v1) ?
I'm facing a small issue when trying your image: the host won't show up in the Network explorer (sharing works fine based on the IP).
Did I miss something, or are there any specific caveats to avoid?
Hi Charles, thank you, I saw and merged your pull request. Sorry for the delay.
Great work on the image -- only problem is, the image restarts infinitely. The solution is not straightforward by any means: http://unix.stackexchange.com/a/277119
I created a repo for my own image and I also forked your github repo. I'm about to submit a pull request containing the fix, hope you see it.
