What is Mono

Mono is a Cross platform, open source .NET framework.
Sponsored by Microsoft, Mono is an open source implementation of Microsoft's .NET Framework based on the ECMA standards for C# and the Common Language Runtime. A growing family of solutions and an active and enthusiastic contributing community is helping position Mono to become the leading choice for development of cross platform applications.

How to use this image

You can enter a shell inside the container by issuing this command.

$ docker run -ti dopedog/mono:alpine

Alternatively, a simple
Dockerfile
can be used to generate a new image that includes the necessary content (which is a much cleaner solution than the bind mount above):

FROM dopedog/mono:alpine
COPY myapp.exe /usr/local/bin/myapp.exe

Place this file in the same directory as your directory of content ("myapp.exe .Net executable"), run

docker build -t some-content-mono .

, then start your container:

$ docker run --name some-mono -d some-content-mono
Docker Pull Command
