Why use this container?

IAM credentials for correct usage

In order to keep access to your AWS environment as manageable as possible it's advised to create a specific AWS/Newrelic IAM user with
specific read-only rights to your cloudformation information.

As mentioned by the plugin authors themselves:

  • Create a new IAM user NewRelicCloudWatch (and save the credentials in a file for later reference)
  • Create a new IAM group, NewRelicCloudWatch
  • Create a custom policy for the group, NewRelicCloudWatch
  • Use the following JSON for the policy document.
  "Version": "2012-10-17",
  "Statement": [
      "Action": [
      "Effect": "Allow",
      "Resource": "*"
  • Add the user to the NewRelicCloudWatch IAM group.
