Once the proxy is in place for your application, make sure you set your local machine to trust the self-signed certificate that's served up by the container so you don't get browser errors:
curl -O https://raw.githubusercontent.com/EvansHunt/docker-nginx-ssl-proxy/master/web.crt
sudo security add-trusted-cert -d -r trustRoot -k /Library/Keychains/System.keychain web.crt
SSL your web container by adding these lines to your docker-compose.yml:
proxy: image: evanshunt/nginx-ssl-proxy ports: - "443:443" links: - "web"
