Short Description
Base image for dtk-arbiter. Same scripts used to build DTK AMI node images.
Full Description

dtk-node-agent

What it is?

Set of scripts that are present in AMIs that serves as basis for nodes that are spun up via Dtk. Below is manual usage of these scripts (if you want to install Puppet Omnibus on nodes, burn new AMIs that will be used by Dtk) but that step is not necessary for everyday usage of Dtk

Manual usage

Build the gem:

gem build dtk-node-agent.gemspec

Intalling the node agent on a running machine (without puppet omnibus)

sudo dtk-node-agent

Intalling the node agent on a running machine (with puppet omnibus)

sudo ./install_agent.sh [--sanitize]

Build all supported AMI images with packer

export AWS_ACCESS_KEY="your aws access key"
export AWS_SECRET_KEY="your aws secret key"

packer build template.json

This will also copy images to all AWS regions.

To get yaml output of new images, first, add .fog file on your home directory (with valid aws credentials) and then run following ruby script:

ruby get_amis.rb <AMI_TIMESTAMPS>

AMI_TIMESTAMPS can be one timestamp or array of timestamps separated with delimiter (,)

Note: Output of get_amis.rb script execution needs to be pasted instead of the old dtk.model.yaml inside aws:image_aws component module. Change needs to be pushed to server then and also to repo manager so everyone has access to new aws images
