Short Description
Put up a quick standby / maintenance site
Full Description

StandBy

This docker image can serve as a quick way to put up a web site maintenance page. Simply start the container and configure with environment variables. Then point your site (either by DNS or by changing your load balancer) to the maintenance container.

All page requests to the standby container will return 500 errors, except for the following url prefixes:

/css, /font-awesome, /fonts, /img, /js

Example

docker run -it --rm -p 80:80 -e 'PAGE_H1=Hello World!' ianneub/standby

Now you can access it by going to your container's IP:

http://192.168.59.103/

Variables

These variables are currently allowed:

Variable Description
PAGE_TITLE This will be placed in the HTML title tag.
PAGE_H1 This will be placed in the h1 tag in the message on the center of the page
PAGE_H3 This will be placed in the h3 tag in the message on the center of the page
PAGE_BG_IMG_SRC Set this to your desired background image, using the full URL
