This image is part of an attempt to create "static world" for docker containers.
In static world if you don't want something in your docker image, just delete it. There should be no dependencies--or perhaps as few as possible--between the tools in the container.
This gives you a /bin/ directory which has most of the core unix tools, all statically linked against musl, for about 38MB.
The things that would be nice but are not included in this yet are:
