This image has been deprecated.
The ibmcom/ibmnode Docker image has been deprecated following the deprecation of the IBM SDK for Node.js on certain platforms. There will be no further updates to this image. We recommend using the official Node.js Docker image instead, available at https://hub.docker.com/_/node/.
For more information on the deprecation of the IBM SDK for Node.js and our move to support the community builds, see https://developer.ibm.com/node/2018/04/25/going-open-deprecating-the-ibm-sdk-for-node-js-in-favour-of-the-community-builds/.
The Docker image in this repository contains the IBM SDK for Node.js for Linux on 64-bit x86 systems, which runs on Ubuntu and contains the Node.js runtime build for the x86-64 architecture. Docker images for the IBM SDK for Node.js for Linux on s390x and ppc64le architectures are also available, see s390x/ibmnode and ppc64le/ibmnode.
Version 4, 6, and 8 of the SDK are provided in the Docker image; these versions are based on the three latest LTS versions of Node.js. Version 6 is the default.
You can use the images via the
docker run command. The following example creates and starts a Docker container that is derived from the
ibmnode image, using Version 6 of the IBM SDK for Node.js, then runs a Node.js app in the container:
$ docker run -it --rm --name my-running-script -v "$PWD":/usr/src/app -w /usr/src/app ibmcom/ibmnode node your-daemon-or-script.js
The supported values for the
tag parameter are listed here.
For license information, see /usr/local/LICENSE within the image. For example:
$ docker run ibmnode:8 cat /usr/local/LICENSE
