Full Description

To start a simple mongodb instance as a background service, use the following command:

docker run -d -p 3306:3306 --name b-mysql -e MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD=mysecretpassword -e MYSQL_DATABASE=test jlgrock/bootstrapped-mysql

To test, you can execute the following command to open a mongo shell that is connected to the server instance:

docker run -it --link b-mysql:mysql --rm mysql sh -c 'exec mysql -h"$MYSQL_PORT_3306_TCP_ADDR" -P"$MYSQL_PORT_3306_TCP_PORT" -uroot -p"$MYSQL_ENV_MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD"'
