This is a neat Ubuntu 14.04 image with Apache 2, MySQL and PHP 5 ready installation. In the following paragraphs I will describe the configuration process followed for obtaining the current image. It is a sort of note to myself for reminding me how to do it, if I need to in a couple of years. Also, for helping beginners as me to getting started with Docker.
Note: This tutorial assumes that you have already installed Docker.
PULLING THE UBUNTU IMAGE
1) First things first. We need the base image from where we are going to run our container. The next command will pull the Docker's Ubuntu 14.04 image:
docker pull ubuntu:14.04
2) To review the Docker images available in your system you can use:
RUNNING THE CONTAINER
1) In order to run the /bin/bash terminal inside the container using the Ubuntu image, we will use the following command:
docker run -i -t ubuntu:14.04 /bin/bash
-i is for an interactive session.
-t is for enabling the TTY console.
This command will get us inside the container's Bash console.
