This is based on Hortonworks Sandbox image downloaded from http://hortonworks.com/downloads/#sandbox.
Instead of downloading from the website, extracting and loading the image to docker, you can pull the image right from Docker Hub.

Pull the image:
$ docker pull khwunchai/hortonworks-sandbox:2.5

Start the container:
Unlike the official image, the startup script will run automatically when you create or start a container.
$ docker run --privileged -d -v hadoop:/hadoop --name sandbox --hostname "sandbox.hortonworks.com" \

Start sandbox services
The startup script will start running the sandbox services automatically. This will take a while, you can ​view the progress using the following command:
$ docker logs -f sandbox

To connect to the container
You connect to the container via ssh using the following command:
$ docker exec -it sandbox bash

Connect to your machine at http://localhost:8888
