Short Description
Oracle Coherence in Containers
Full Description

Running Coherence Cluster using Overlay network.
For demonstration purpose

  • consider the two machines dcs1 and dcs2
  • on both the machines, the docker engine is configured appropriately to setup overlay networking
  • Let us say, the overlay networking name is test_overlay

Now, on dcs1 run the following

docker run -itd --name=dcs1 --hostname=dcs1 \
--net=test_overlay kishore320/oraclecoherence:12.2.1-0-0 \
/usr/java/default/bin/java \
-cp /u01/app/oracle/coherence/coherence/lib/coherence.jar \
-Dcoherence.wka=dcs1 com.tangosol.net.DefaultCacheServer

On dcs2, run the following

docker run -itd --name=dcs2 --hostname=dcs2 \
--net=test_overlay kishore320/oraclecoherence:12.2.1-0-0 \
/usr/java/default/bin/java \
-cp /u01/app/oracle/coherence/coherence/lib/coherence.jar \
-Dcoherence.wka=dcs1 com.tangosol.net.DefaultCacheServer

And observe that dcs1 and dcs2 forms coherence cluster.
