What is scifi?
Scifi is a 64-bit development environment, based on Ubuntu 14.04, for the python language. It is tailored for development in artificial intelligence areas such as scientific computing, data science, numerical analysis, machine learning, image processing, neural networks, text mining, natural language processing ...
It is primarily based on the Anaconda distribution but it is enhanced with other packages such as OpenCV. The python version used is 2.7.
To eliminate the need of visual development environments, the scifi repository encourages and supports the use of vim. Vim comes preinstalled in the scifi repository and is equipped with powerful addons that turn it into a full featured python development environment.
