This image is part of the resin.io base image series for IoT devices. The image is optimized for use with resin.io and resinOS, but can be used in any Docker environment running on the appropriate architecture.

What is Alpine Linux?
Alpine Linux is a Linux distribution built around musl libc and BusyBox. The image is only 5 MB in size and has access to a package repository that is much more complete than other BusyBox based images. This makes Alpine Linux a great image base for utilities and even production applications. Read more about Alpine Linux here and you can see how their mantra fits in right at home with Docker images.
How to use this image
Use like you would any other base image:
FROM resin/via-vab820-quad-alpine:3.4 RUN apk add --no-cache mysql-client ENTRYPOINT ["mysql"]
Supported Docker versions
This image is officially supported on Docker version 17.05.0-ce.
Support for older versions (down to 1.0) is provided on a best-effort basis.
