Short Description
Backup a remote filesystem(s) using rsnapshot
Full Description

To use:

  1. Generate a public/private key pair in the directory: "ssh-keygen -t dsa -b 4096" (creating the files id_rsa and
  2. Create rsnapshot.conf to your liking
  3. Create a cron file (if applicable)
  4. Create a folder to save your backedup data to
  5. Connect the above to the following mount points:
    • /root/.ssh/id_rsa
    • /root/.ssh/
    • /etc/rsnapshot.conf
    • /etc/cron.d/rsnapshot (if applicable)
    • /media/target
    • /root/.ssh/known_hosts
  6. Start the container, either:
    • "rsnapshot monthly", "rsnapshot weekly" then "rsnapshot daily"
    • "/root/run-rsnapshot" (after setting the INTERVAL environment variable)
    • "/usr/sbin/cron -f" (to let cron take care of things)
