How to use

First you need to pull the image :

docker pull savoirfairelinux/ring-fedora32:23

Then you can run it :

docker run -it savoirfairelinux/ring-fedora32:23 bash

Or use it as a base image in a Dockerfile :

FROM hugodby/fedora32:23
RUN echo Really what you want...
CMD /bin/bash

How images are made

Official cloud images from fedora server are used.

wget http://mirror.its.dal.ca/pub/fedora/linux/releases/23/Cloud/i386/Images/Fedora-Cloud-Base-23-20151030.i386.qcow2
virt-tar-out -a Fedora-Cloud-Base-23-20151030.i386.qcow2 / - | docker import - fedora32_aux:23

Once the image created, .repo files are edited.

sed -i 's/$basearch/i386/g' /etc/yum.repos.d/*.repo

We added an entrypoint i386 because of some weird behavior with C++ compilation. So if you run docker run -it savoirfairelinux/fedora32:23 uname -a you will see i386. Final Dockerfile looks like that :

FROM fedora32_aux:23
RUN sed -i 's/$basearch/i386/g' /etc/yum.repos.d/*.repo
ENTRYPOINT ["i386"]
CMD ["bash"]

So lets build the final docker image:

docker build -t fedora32_aux:23 .
