NGINX PROXY simple image with WebSocket support

Usage

  • Environment Variables

You need to provide the following env variables :

  • UPSTREAM : the backend hostname to forward requests to (eg. example.com)
  • UPSTREAM_PORT : the backend port to forward requests to (eg. 8080)
  • UPSTREAM_PATH : Will prefix incoming request with the value provided. (eg. /my-app/). Defaults to /

The configuration tells nginx to act as a proxy redirecting requests as follows :

/* --> ${UPSTREAM}:${UPSTREAM_PORT}${UPSTREAM_PATH}

In our example:

/* --> example.com:80/my-app/*
