This Docker image can send ping requests out, and supply the results to the user. The ping requests are sent from the container to the user's IP address.
The user needs to access the container using http://xx.xx.xx.xx:8090
To run the container, type
docker run -p 8090:8090 shabaz/basic_server
This Docker image creates a an approximately 15-line web server (using Node.js) that sits and waits for any user to access via their browser. When a user access it, the server gets their IP address from the HTTP request, and then does a ping towards them. The response is served up in a web page, so the user can see the results of the ping and the round trip time.
This Docker image is part of a training exercise showing how deploy a VM, how to install Docker and how to create a simple app and then how to create, push and pull Docker images.
