Short Description
"A high-performance Nginx base image to serve static websites"
Full Description

Based on existing image

This Nginx base image is meant to serve static websites.

In our case, we are using it to automate the serving of a documentation site that we build using the site generator MkDocs ( That's why, in the Dockerfile, the directory where the built site is is called site/, as it's the one built by default by MkDocs.

If the directory where your site is is called differently, simply replace ./site/ in the Dockerfile with your own directory name, then build your own image with:

$ docker build -t yoursite .
Successfully built 5ae2fb5cf4f8
$ docker run -p 80:80 -d yoursite
$ curl localhost

Otherwise, to pull the image:
$ docker pull siphanbou/documentation-site

To run the image and serve your static site locally:
$ docker run -p 80:80 -d siphanbou/documentation-site

$ curl localhost

Docker Pull Command
