Short Description
"A high-performance Nginx base image to serve static websites"
Full Description

Based on existing image https://hub.docker.com/r/kyma/docker-nginx/

This Nginx base image is meant to serve static websites.

In our case, we are using it to automate the serving of a documentation site that we build using the site generator MkDocs (http://www.mkdocs.org/). That's why, in the Dockerfile, the directory where the built site is is called site/, as it's the one built by default by MkDocs.

If the directory where your site is is called differently, simply replace ./site/ in the Dockerfile with your own directory name, then build your own image with:

$ docker build -t yoursite .
...
Successfully built 5ae2fb5cf4f8
$ docker run -p 80:80 -d yoursite
da809981545f
$ curl localhost
...

Otherwise, to pull the image:
$ docker pull siphanbou/documentation-site

To run the image and serve your static site locally:
$ docker run -p 80:80 -d siphanbou/documentation-site

$ curl localhost
