Short Description
K9Copy: the Linux DVDshrink for DVD backup
Full Description

K9Copy

The Linux DVDshrink to make DVD backup.

This is the original K9Copy where the development was "stopped in 2011 with the
author citing the fragmentation of Linux as a major issue", see K9Copy on
wikipedia
.

There is a new K9copy-reloaded
effort for newer version of Ubuntu (14.04+) and Debian (8+).

However, I prefer using official binaries from official repos and I am very
happy with the "old" K9Copy.

This Docker image should work on newer Ubuntu and Debian but also on all other
distros that Docker is supported (RHEL, Fedora, ...).

This version of the image connects directly to your X server ... I know it is
very unsecure, see post from Alex Larsson on Hacker
News
. I have some trouble
getting Xpra to work. However since this image is using all official binaries,
it should not be too bad.

Usage

The easiest way to use this image is to use the launcher I wrote
https://bitbucket.org/tlvu/dockerfiles/raw/default/k9copy/k9copydockerrun

Version History (repo tags)

  • 2.3.8-20170623: output files owned by current user instead of user 5555

  • 2.3.8-20150721: make the image work on other distros than Ubuntu
