Final Writeup

We built a portable weather station that records weather data in the field, saves it locally on the arduino, and submits it to our server when connected to the Internet for further retrieval and analysis.

Week 8

We researched implementing and attaching our Arduino (Weather Station) to a quadcopter. As well as a protected containment apparatus in the unlikely event of a flight failure and crash.

Week 7

This week we implemented and deployed our REST API server application. We tested GET and POST requests on our server using CURL. Our server application is properly persisting the data using a database. We're now ready to put together all the concepts that we built proof of concepts for on our arduino and start logging our climate data and publishing it to our server.

Week 6

We implemented setup a HTTP client on our arduino, and we tested sending GET and POST requests using an Ethernet connection. We should now be ready to communicate with our webserver via a REST API. HTTP Client Library: https://github.com/amcewen/HttpClient

Week 5

We got the SD card reader working. We were able to log our weather sensor data and write it to a file on the SD card in CSV format. SD Card: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Reference/SD

Week 4

We finished CIRC-10 and hooked up our Ethernet shield. We were able to get an IP address, and we were able to ping our arduino over the network. On Thursday, we hooked up our temp/pressure sensor, and verified that we could get data and output it to the serial monitor. Week 3

In week 3, we completed CIRC-07 from Boxall. We successfully wired our pushbuttons to controla LED bulb. We played with different ways to control the LED using our buttons, and we expiremented with counting the number of times we pressed the buttons.

Week 2

In week 2, we completed CIRC-02 from Boxall. Additionaly, we successfully wired 8 LEDs and wrote a loop to cycle the LEDS in various patterns. Since we used red LEDs, it kind of looked like Kit from Knight Rider.

Week 1

In week 1, we completed CIRC-01 from Boxall. We successfully wired our board and LED, programmed, and ran our sketch. Here's our source code:
