What is Statoshi?
Statoshi is the Bitcoin Core software with an integrated statistical logging system. Its objective is to protect Bitcoin by bringing transparency to the activity occurring on the node network. By making this data available, people can learn more about node performance, gain operational insight about the network, and the community can be informed about attacks and aberrant behaviour in realtime mode.
This is a 'lightweight' version of Statoshi which can be deployed on any system running Docker. Its an easier and faster way of installing/setting up your own Bitcoin node with realtime performance metrics. This light version is the basis of a bare form of the statoshi daemon. It still needs to synchronise with the Bitcoin network.
Run the Statoshi-LITE container, the statoshi-daemon first needs to synchronise with the Bitcoin network. This process will take approximately 24-48 hours, depending on bandwidth allocation of the internet connection and available memory and computing resources of the (virtual) hardware.
To monitor the process of your Statoshi-LITE container, open your favourite browser and enter the ip-address of the container (e.g. http:// 192.168.59.103). To login use for username and password "statoshi". First you need to setup the source of the graphite database (http:// 127.0.0.1:8080), please see the grafana 2.0 documentation (http:// docs.grafana.org/datasources/graphite) or YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZCMVNxUf6s).
Additional you can setup your own "Dashboards" (for more information see: http:// docs.grafana.org/guides/gettingstarted/#dashboard or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKNZMtoSHN4) or exporting/importing them from the original project from http://statoshi.info.
