77rev/proripy repository overview

See publication at: https://arxiv.org/abs/2607.05018
See GitLab documentation at: https://gitlab.wigner.hu/szmlnr/toolbox-for-hep

This image contains Pythia (8.315) for event generation,
as well as Rivet (4.1.0) with YODA, ROOT, FastJet3, HighFive, LHAPDF6 and HepMC3.

Professor is added which you can use for sampling, interpolation and tuning (among other things).
The 2.0+ versions include wxPython, so you can use prof2-I remotely as well.

build-essential is also included, so you can compile C/C++ code,
as well as Rust, Ruby and Go (+Python3 by default).

Setting an alias in .bashrc (or whichever shell you use) is useful, e.g.:
alias proripy43='docker run -it -v $HOME/Work:/home/devuser/Work 77rev/proripy:4.4'

The 4.0 version has the GNU Debugger. To open multiple terminals, run:
docker exec -it --user devuser [container name or id] bash

The 4.1 version has the $PYTHONPATH bug fixed, YODA and other related tools will work without
manual intervention.

Version 4.2: env bug fixes. Applied to the ssh version as well.

Version 4.3: Included bc and powerstat as additional tools.

Version 4.4: Inclusion of a benchmarking script for CPU testing.

The documentation will be moved to a GitLab project in the near future.

There is a user set up (devuser), the sudo password and the root password are the same,
once it is started in terminal mode it should be displayed.

The SSH version is always built on the latest (currently 4.4) 77rev/proripy image.
The only difference is that it has a configured SSH server installed, which can be
integrated into e.g. VSCode.
Start it by:
docker run -it -p 1779 77rev/proripy:ssh
