A Simple Way to compile ESP8266 Firmware

Instead of setting up a full toolchain simply compile like this

$ cd /path/to/project
$ docker run --rm -it -v $PWD:/build affixxx/esp8266-toolchain

As long as you have a Makefile present this will automatically build your application.

If your host supports USB passing you can do the following to flash

$ cd /path/to/project
$ docker run --rm -it --device=/dev/ttyUSB0 -v $PWD:/build affixxx/esp8266-toolchain make flash
