This docker image is for the git-tools⁠

⁠Motivation

The above repo supports various git tools. The one I needed the most was git-restore-mtime. This tool is helpful when doing aws s3 sync from your git repository to a AWS S3 bucket.

The problem has been very well explained in a Github Action plugin git-restore-mtime action⁠

I needed a docker based tool to use in one of my projects. Since none existed, hence this tool

This repo is a fork of the git repo MestreLion/git-tools⁠

⁠Base Image

The docker image is based on python:3.13-slim⁠

⁠Usage

docker run -u $(id -u):$(id -g) -v ./mygitrepo:/data aiotales/git-tools:latest ./git-restore-mtime -C /data

Assuming the folder ./mygitrepo is a checkout git repo

After the command is run, you can expect each file in the git repo would reflect their actual modification time as per their git commit

You can always try all other tools documented in the original git-tools⁠
