A simple way to install a Velocity proxy for Minecraft.
272
This Docker image automatically downloads the latest stable version of Velocity proxy using a Python script.
Since there wasn't a readily available Docker image for building Velocity, I created one myself. It utilizes the PaperMC API (https://docs.papermc.io/velocity) and Python code to retrieve the download link for the latest stable Velocity build and downloads it using wget.
I recommend using Docker Compose to mount a volume. This allows you to customize the configuration, obtain your forwarding.secret and add any desired plugins.
docker-compose.yaml:
version: '3.8'
services:
app:
image: 'docker_velocity:latest'
restart: unless-stopped
network_mode: host
volumes:
- ./data:/usr/src/app
This GitHub page includes the Dockerfile, Python script, and start.sh file for Velocity: https://github.com/AkariNf/docker-velocity Feel free to explore, modify, and use it for personal purposes. Any suggestions, fixes, or helpful comments are welcome!
