⁠queue-tools

⁠What is this?

This is a Docker image that helps with handling failed messages in an SQS or Lambda based processing environment by moving messages from one queue to another or queue to lambda.

It's also possible to fake file drop events to queues based on S3 objects matching a given prefix or matching a date span based on the filename.

⁠Operations

Pass in any of the following operations as the first argument before the flags.

⁠queue-to-queue

Moves the messages from the origin-queue to the target-queue.

⁠Parameters

• --origin-queue The queue to move messages from
• --target-queue The queue to send messages from

⁠queue-to-lambda

Moves the messages from the origin-queue and triggers them as events on the target-function.

⁠Parameters

• --origin-queue The queue to move messages from
• --target-function The lambda function to trigger

⁠bucket-to-queue

Generate SQS messages based on objects in origin-bucket and put them on target-queue.

⁠Parameters

• --origin-bucket The bucket to base the messages on
• --target-queue The queue to put messages on
• --prefix The prefix to use when listing objects.
• --s3-event-transform Space separated list of transformations of the generated S3 PutObject event message. (See help for valid values). All events will be based on an S3 PutObject event message which will be piped through each type.
• --from-date Date to filter out S3 objects from (date is read in from the date)
• --to-date Date to filter out S3 objects to (date is read in from the date)
• --s3-key-date-pattern The pattern to use for finding the date part in the S3 key
