alcounit/seleniferous repository overview

Seleniferous

A sidecar proxy that runs inside each browser Pod. It terminates the hub's proxied connection, rewrites session IDs, forwards traffic to the local browser, and self-terminates the Pod when the session is deleted, goes idle, or never starts — enforcing the one-session-one-Pod model.

What it does

  • Accepts WebDriver (/session), Playwright (/playwright), and MCP (/mcp) traffic and proxies it to the local browser on loopback.
  • Rewrites the browser-provided sessionId to a stable, pod-derived UUID (also rewriting BiDi / CDP capability URLs).
  • Tracks idle and create timeouts, and self-terminates the Pod on session delete, idle, or timeout.
  • Exposes internal HTTP and VNC (WebSocket) proxy routes used by Selenosis.

Requirements

  • Runs as a sidecar inside a browser Pod.
  • Local browser process reachable at BROWSER_PORT.
  • Optional: POD_IP provided for stable session ID generation (auto-detected from the first non-loopback interface if absent).
