⁠FileSender Production Docker Image

FileSender is a secure, self‑hosted file sharing application used by universities, research organisations, and enterprises. This Docker image provides a production‑ready build using Apache + PHP 8.2, based on the official FileSender source code from my custom prod branch.

⁠🚀 Quick Start

Run the container with default settings:

docker run -d -p 8080:80 --name filesender amirul123/filesender:latest

Then open http://your-server-ip:8080⁠ and follow the installation wizard. You will need to provide your database credentials during setup.

⁠Environment Variables

To connect to your database (recommended), use these variables:

Example:

docker run -d -p 8080:80 \
  -e FILESENDER_DB_HOST=192.168.1.100 \
  -e FILESENDER_DB_USER=filesender_user \
  -e FILESENDER_DB_PASS=MyStr0ngP@ssw0rd \

⁠Where does this image come from?

Source code: GitHub – Amirul78800/filesender/tree/prod

Base image: php:8.2-apache (official PHP image)

Build automation: GitHub Actions (CI/CD) builds and pushes automatically on every commit to the prod branch.

⁠Testing & Verification

After deployment, verify that: The web interface loads (/).

Configuration file is created at config/config.php.

Upload / download works (tests writing to data/ directory).

Logs show no permission errors: docker logs filesender-app
