anguslearn/mikrotik-dashboard repository overview

MikroTik LAN Monitor

A lightweight, self-hosted web dashboard for MikroTik routers β€” live per-device traffic, a network map, and WiFi client insight, with no agent, no cloud, and ~50 MB RAM. The image is fully local-first: it only talks to your routers (RouterOS API, port 8728) and to your browser.

Features

  • πŸ“Š Live dashboard β€” WAN throughput charts, per-device rates, protocol and destination analytics, active connections
  • πŸ—ΊοΈ Network map β€” auto-drawn topology with live per-device traffic flows
  • πŸ“Ά WiFi station view (AP mode) β€” SSID, band, chipset, signal (dBm), link quality (CCQ), PHY rate and station IPs β€” WinBox registration-table parity
  • πŸ‘₯ Router profiles β€” switch between multiple MikroTik devices from the UI, each profile keeping its own history (charts never mix routers)
  • πŸ”” Pause/resume internet per device (optional, needs a write user)
  • πŸ“± Single-page UI, responsive, dark theme β€” nothing to install on clients

Quick start

# 1-second setup with compose (recommended)
curl -O https://raw.githubusercontent.com/AngusLearn/mikrotik-dashboard/main/docker-compose.public.yml
mkdir -p data && sudo chown 1000:1000 data/
docker compose -f docker-compose.public.yml up -d
# open http://<host-ip>:8899 and follow the setup wizard

Or plain docker:

docker run -d --name mikrotik-dashboard -p 8899:8899 \
  -v $PWD/data:/data --restart unless-stopped \
  anguslearn/mikrotik-dashboard:latest

All state (config, login, history) lives in ./data β€” the container is disposable, upgrades are just docker compose pull && docker compose up -d.

Notes

  • Multi-arch: latest contains linux/amd64 and linux/arm64 β€” pull the same tag on a PC, Pi, or ARM device.
  • Sizing: ~50–60 MB RAM, a few % CPU. Runs happily on a Pi Zero 2 W.
  • Security: give the dashboard a read-only RouterOS user (/user add name=dash group=read) β€” it only needs the API port (8728). Credentials are never sent to the browser; port 8899 is the only port involved.
  • Offline friendly: UI assets are vendored; internet is optional (MAC vendor names refresh once when reachable).
