oracle/database:19.3.0-ee for ARM (Apple M)
10K+
Description: This repository provides a Docker image for running Oracle 19c on MacBook Silicon or M-Series Processors. Oracle's 19c database is a long-term support release, known for its robust performance, high availability, and scalability. However, Oracle does not natively support Apple Silicon/M1/M2 processors, so this image is specifically configured and optimized for compatibility with these architectures.
Features: Oracle 19c Database: Fully functional Oracle 19c database instance. Optimized for M-Series Processors: Configuration adjustments and emulation layers (if needed) ensure the image runs smoothly on Apple Silicon. Customizable Setup: Pre-configured environment variables for easier customization, including database name, password, and memory allocation. Pre-installed SQL Developer Tools: Provides essential Oracle tools and libraries pre-installed within the container for development and testing purposes. Simple Deployment: With a single Docker command, you can have a fully operational Oracle 19c database instance running on your local MacBook.
Usage: Pull the Image: docker pull anuragmanchanda/oracle_db19
bash Copy code
Run the Container:
bash Copy code docker run -d --name oracle19c -p 1521:1521 -e ORACLE_PWD=YourPasswordHere /oracle-19c-mac-silicon Environment Variables:
ORACLE_PWD: Sets the password for the Oracle SYS and SYSTEM users. ORACLE_DB: (Optional) Name of the database. MEMORY_LIMIT: (Optional) Memory allocation for the Oracle instance. Requirements: Docker Desktop installed on MacBook (Apple Silicon/M1/M2). Rosetta 2 (if needed for certain emulation tasks). Important Notes: This image may utilize QEMU or other emulation tools to run Oracle 19c on ARM-based processors. Performance may differ compared to native x86-based environments, so it is recommended primarily for development and testing. Troubleshooting: Please refer to the FAQ and known issues sections in the repository for common problems and solutions, or feel free to open an issue if something doesn't work as expected.
