Basic image to provide a ready to use F' environment.
The default behaviour assumes a local F' project with a deployment on the host. The container automatically builds as necessary and starts fprime-gds. GDS is accessible from the host if a host port is associated to 5000.
Example run from the root of an F' project with a deployment named FirstDeployment:
docker run --rm -it \
-v $(pwd):/fprime-project \
-e DEPLOYMENT=FirstDeployment \
-p 9090:5000 \
artefacts/ssf-native-fprime
Logs vary if the start involves building the deployment. They should end with:
...
[INFO] Launched UI at: http://0.0.0.0:5000/
[INFO] Ensuring custom-data-handlers-app Plugin App is stable for at least 1 seconds
[INFO] Running Application: /venv/bin/python3
[INFO] F prime is now running. CTRL-C to shutdown all components.
The F' tutorials are available to show how this image can be used:
git clone https://github.com/fprime-community/fprime-tutorial-hello-world.git
cd fprime-tutorial-hello-world
docker run --rm -it \
-v $(pwd):/fprime-project \
-e DEPLOYMENT=FirstDeployment \
-p 9090:5000 \
artefacts/ssf-native-fprime
This should be self contained and work out of the box at http://localhost:9090. The default GDS tab is Commanding. The mnemonic HiNamespace.hiCmpntInstance.SAY_HI is a command that asks the flight software to reply a la hello world. Please input some text in the greeting box, and send a message. The Events tab should now show the reply.
