QA Lens

Turn automated test results into clear next actions.

QA Lens is an open-source quality intelligence platform for automated testing results. It ingests supported test results, stores run history locally, and helps teams understand:

  • what failed in the latest run;
  • what changed compared with previous runs;
  • which failure clusters are recurring;
  • which tests are flaky or at risk;
  • what to investigate first.

Unlike static test reports that only show pass/fail outcomes, QA Lens analyzes historical runs to surface patterns, recurring incidents, and actionable quality signals across time.

The Docker image packages the QA Lens web application and CLI into a self-contained runtime environment.

Quick Start

docker run --rm -p 127.0.0.1:8080:8080 \
  -v qalens-data:/data \
  arulprasath36/qalens:latest

Open:

http://127.0.0.1:8080

QA Lens stores its SQLite database and configuration in the mounted /data volume.

Ingest Test Reports

Mount a report folder and run the ingestion command:

docker run --rm \
  -v qalens-data:/data \
  -v /path/to/allure-results:/reports/input:ro \
  arulprasath36/qalens:latest \
  ingest /reports/input --db /data/qalens.db

Try QA Lens With Preloaded Demo Data

Explore QA Lens immediately using a demo database with 50 synthetic test runs, failure clusters, stability trends, risk signals, and prioritized actions.

1. Download the Demo Database
mkdir -p qalens-demo
cd qalens-demo

curl -fL https://github.com/Arulprasath36/QALens/releases/download/v0.1.2/shopnow-demo.zip \
  -o shopnow-demo.zip

unzip shopnow-demo.zip
2. Load the Demo Database Into Docker Storage

Create a dedicated Docker volume for the demo data:

docker volume create qalens-demo-data

Copy the downloaded demo database into that volume:

docker run --rm --entrypoint sh \
  -v qalens-demo-data:/data \
  -v "$PWD:/seed:ro" \
  arulprasath36/qalens:latest \
  -c 'cp /seed/shopnow-demo.db /data/qalens.db'
3. Start QA Lens
docker run --rm \
  -p 127.0.0.1:8080:8080 \
  -v qalens-demo-data:/data \
  arulprasath36/qalens:latest

Open:

http://127.0.0.1:8080
Notes
  • The demo database contains synthetic data only.
  • Use the separate qalens-demo-data volume so demo data does not replace your own QA Lens history.
  • The 127.0.0.1 binding keeps this no-auth local instance accessible only from your machine.
  • To reset the demo database, remove the volume and repeat the steps:
docker volume rm qalens-demo-data

Then start the application:

docker run --rm -p 127.0.0.1:8080:8080 \
  -v qalens-data:/data \
  arulprasath36/qalens:latest

Supported Report Formats

  • Allure results
  • ExtentReports output

Key Features

  • Run history and regression comparison
  • Action brief with prioritized failures
  • Failure clustering and incident tracking
  • Stability and flakiness analysis
  • Predictive risk signals
  • Deterministic question answering, with optional local or cloud LLM assistance
  • HTML and Markdown report export
  • GitHub authentication support for hosted deployments

Persistent Data

Use a Docker volume to preserve ingested runs and settings across container restarts:

-v qalens-data:/data

The default container paths are:

/data/qalens.db
/data/config.toml

Security Notes

  • The default example binds the application to 127.0.0.1, making it accessible only from your machine.
  • Configure authentication before exposing QA Lens publicly.
  • Treat imported test reports as potentially sensitive because they may contain error messages, environment details, logs, or attached artifacts.
  • LLM assistance is optional; deterministic analysis remains available without an LLM provider.
