Airline Manager Bot

Automated bot for managing your Airline Manager company.

It can automatically handle various tasks such as starting marketing campaigns, scheduling departures, purchasing fuel and CO2, improving staff morale, managing hubs, collecting company statistics, performing repairs, A-Checks, and modifications.

The bot is designed to run periodically based on a cron schedule, allowing for continuous management of your airline without manual intervention.

It uses a headless browser to interact with the Airline Manager web interface, simulating user actions to perform the necessary tasks.

How it works

Under the hood, the bot uses Chromedp to control a headless Chrome/Chromium browser.

It logs into the Airline Manager website using the provided credentials, navigates through the web elements, and performs actions based on the configured options.

In parallel, it collects various statistics about the airline and alliance, exposing them as Prometheus metrics for monitoring and analysis.

You can visualize these metrics using Grafana.

Warning

Since the bot interacts with the Airline Manager web interface, it is necessary to ensure that the game's layout and elements remain unchanged.

For this purpose, you have to make sure to keep game settings as:

  1. Language: English (Default)

  2. Icon Menu: Enabled

As it is shown in the screenshot below:

Game settings

Installation

  1. Install Docker from https://www.docker.com/get-started

  2. Create config.yaml file based on Configuration section. For example:

    mkdir -p /opt/ambot/conf
    nano /opt/ambot/conf/config.yaml

    Paste your configuration and save the file.

  3. Run the bot:

    docker run --rm --name ambot --volume /opt/ambot/conf/config.yaml:/config.yaml ashokhin/am4bot:latest

    For collecting Prometheus metrics, you can expose port 9150 (default in the config option prometheus_address) from container to host:

    docker run --rm --name ambot --volume /opt/ambot/conf/config.yaml:/config.yaml -p 9150:9150 ashokhin/am4bot:latest

  4. (Optional) To run the bot as a systemd service, create a file /etc/systemd/system/am4bot.service with the following content:

    [Unit]
    Description=Airline Manager bot
    Documentation="https://github.com/ashokhin/am4bot"
    After=docker.service
    Requires=docker.service

    [Service]
    Type=simple
    Restart=always
    ExecStartPre=-/usr/bin/docker pull ashokhin/am4bot:latest
    ExecStart=/usr/bin/docker run --rm --name %n --volume /opt/ambot/conf/config.yaml:/config.yaml --publish 9150:9150 ashokhin/am4bot:latest

    [Install]
    WantedBy=multi-user.target

    Then enable and start the service:

    sudo systemctl daemon-reload
    sudo systemctl enable am4bot.service --now

You can use the following Grafana dashboard to visualize the Prometheus metrics collected by the bot.

Known Issues

  • During the maintenance operations, the "Modification" function chooses only the last N aircraft from the list of aircraft eligible for modification, where N is the aircraft_modify_limit configuration option. Note that the function chooses aircraft sorted by registration number, lexicographically (alphabetically). Insure that your fleet registration numbers are assigned in a way that allows the bot to select the desired aircraft for modification.
