Note:

The setup has been only tested on the Ubuntu operating system.

It is assumed that Docker is installed.

It is assumed that if the Docker container is to take advantage of an NVIDIA GPU, the host machine has been properly configured by installing the necessary NVIDIA GPU drivers and the NVIDIA Container Toolkit.

You will need the AutoDRIVE Simulator image to work with this AutoDRIVE Devkit image.

Pull AutoDRIVE Devkit Container:

docker pull autodriveecosystem/autodrive_nigel_api:<TAG>

Run AutoDRIVE Devkit Container:

  1. Enable display forwarding:

    xhost local:root

  2. Run the container at entrypoint:

docker run --name autodrive_nigel_api --rm -it --entrypoint /bin/bash --network=host --ipc=host -v /tmp/.X11-unix:/tmp.X11-umix:rw --env DISPLAY --privileged --gpus all autodriveecosystem/autodrive_nigel_api:<TAG>

  3. Launch AutoDRIVE Devkit in graphics mode (RViz rendering will be enabled):

    ros2 launch autodrive_nigel bringup_graphics.launch.py

  4. Launch AutoDRIVE Devkit in headless mode (RViz rendering will be disabled):

    ros2 launch autodrive_nigel bringup_headless.launch.py

  5. Start additional bash session(s) within the container (each in a new terminal window):

    docker exec -it autodrive_nigel_api bash
