Generate cryptographically strong passwords right on your machine with this lightweight and secure Docker container.

⁠Quick Start

Pull the image:

docker pull bexyn/passwordgenerator:latest

Run the container:

docker run --rm bexyn/passwordgenerator

This will generate and display a secure 12-character password.

⁠Features

• Local Execution: All password generation occurs on your device
• Cryptographic Strength: Uses Python's secrets module for true randomness
• Customizable: Generate passwords of any length (minimum 8 characters)
• Complex by Default: Each password includes at least:
  • 2 uppercase letters
  • 2 numbers
  • 2 special characters
• Zero Storage: Passwords are generated on-demand and never persisted

⁠Usage

Generate a password with default length (12 characters):

docker run --rm bexyn/passwordgenerator

Generate a password with custom length:

docker run --rm bexyn/passwordgenerator python -c "from password_generator import generate_password; print(generate_password(16))"

⁠Security

This container is designed with security in mind:

• Runs as a non-root user
• Contains only the necessary Python environment and script
• No external dependencies or network calls

⁠Important: The generated password is displayed only once and is not stored. Make sure to save the password securely immediately after generation. Use a password manager or another secure method to store your passwords, as they cannot be retrieved once the container execution is complete.

⁠Privacy

Your privacy is paramount:

• All password generation occurs locally on your machine
• No data is sent outside of your environment
• No logs or generated passwords are stored
