bigstepinc/zeppelin-spark-mesos repository overview

This repository contains a set of scripts and configuration files to run Apache Zeppelin from Docker containers.

To run Zeppelin manually:

1. Pull container

docker pull bigstepinc/zeppelin-spark-mesos

2.1 Run container without starting Zeppelin:

docker run -i -t -p 3080:8080 -p 3081:8081 bigstepinc/zeppelin-spark/mesos /bin/bash

Zeppelin runs on port 8080/8081 by default, but in an environment with Spark deployed there are chances of port mapping conflicts. That is why it is recommended to expose different ports for the Docker containers running Zeppelin.

2.1.1 Start Zeppelin inside the Docker container:

./bin/zeppelin.sh start

2.2 Run container starting Zeppelin

docker run -i -t -p 3080:8080 -p 3081:8081 --entrypoint=./bin/zeppelin.sh bigstepinc/zeppelin-spark/mesos 

By running the container you will have Hadoop and Spark already built.
