⁠Quick Start

docker run -d \

⁠Configuration

On first start, the server generates a configuration file at /data/murmur.ini. The SuperUser password is logged on first run.

To set a custom SuperUser password:

docker exec -it mumble-server murmurd -supw YOUR_PASSWORD

⁠gRPC API

The gRPC API is enabled on port 50051. Check the generated README.md in your volume for API usage examples and authentication details.

⁠Versioning Strategy

We compile official Mumble upstream releases with our own enhancement versioning:

• Format: <upstream-version>-rec.<increment>
  • Example: 1.5.857-rec.4 = Mumble 1.5.857 with REC enhancements (release 4)
• Tags:
  • latest - Always the most recent stable build
  • <upstream>-rec.<n> - Specific REC release (e.g., 1.5.857-rec.4)
  • <upstream> - Tracks the upstream version (e.g., 1.5.857)

To find the exact version you're running:

docker exec mumble-server cat /data/version.json
