bonchongo/dnsdist-stable-latest repository overview

This is a soft fork of chrisss404's dnsdist build⁠, but it solely tracks the most recent stable releases from PowerDNS⁠. While my build accepts all of the same environment variables or setting declarations⁠ in docker-compose.yml, there are a few little improvements and changes:

1. Plaintext credentials are now hashed during startup (i.e. hashPlaintextCredentials=true).

2. A decreased threshold for FQDN reduction when filtering domains, which now kicks in if your blacklist exceeds 1000 entries (i.e. if counter > 1000).

3. The lone PacketCache and two MaxQPS rules are intentionally stripped out (as I prefer defining a bevy of such parameters myself, via files mounted under /etc/dnsdist/conf.d).

Note that this image requires a considerable degree of manual configuration to use, and if you are looking to deploy dnsdist as a standalone forwarding resolver, then you will need to add your own downstream servers (e.g. In /etc/dnsdist/conf.d/servers.conf).
