What's for Supper?

What's for Supper? API

The backend API for What's for Supper? — a self-hosted household meal-planning app.

What this image does

This .NET API owns the household’s shared application data and workflows:

  • Recipes, household planning, voting, and grocery-list state
  • Recipe imports from photos, links, and short descriptions
  • Local recipe-file storage
  • Live updates through Server-Sent Events
  • Optional Gemini-assisted recipe processing and search
Household data stays on your own server.

Use with the project template

This image is not intended to run alone. Deploy it with the matching PWA, database-migration, PostgreSQL/pgvector, and Traefik services.

The API starts only after PostgreSQL is healthy and the database migration completes successfully.

Use the same exact version for all application images:

brisebois/whats-for-supper-api:VERSION
brisebois/whats-for-supper-pwa:VERSION
brisebois/whats-for-supper-db-migration:VERSION
