⁠Workflow

Client ---TLS---> ELB ---TCP(ProxyProto(MQTT)) ---> VMQ

SSL encryption has been set between client and ELB . A ssl certificate has been imported and installed in the AWS ELB . The proxy protocol policy for backend servers has been set for the load balancer . Load Balancer Protocol : SSL Load Balancer Port : 8883 Instance Protocol : TCP Instance Port : 1883

Basic authentication has been enabled by setting the vmq.passwd in /etc/vernemq

⁠Extra configurations

listener.tcp.default.proxy_protocol = on allow-anonymous=off

⁠Notes

1. Only when connected with mqtt client providing correct username and password will connection get established .
2. ELB should be configured with proxy protocol policy else you will face a connection error
3. Vernemq did not start when aws public IP was provided in configurations
4. SSL not enabled for vernemq
