cauldronio/grimoirelab repository overview

Container preinstalled with a certain release of GrimoireLab, including all libraries and programs. By default it runs mordred for producing a dashboard, given a mordred configuration file.

This image has been built from https://github.com/chaoss/grimoirelab/blob/master/docker/Dockerfile-installed⁠

⁠Build instructions for this image

1. Download the Grimoirelab repository:

git clone https://github.com/chaoss/grimoirelab
cd grimoirelab

1. Build the packages and create the image:

RELEASE="X.Y.Z"
utils/build_grimoirelab --build --relfile releases/$RELEASE --dist docker/dist
docker build -f docker/Dockerfile-installed -t cauldronio/grimoirelab:$RELEASE .

• To build the master branch remove the --relfile parameter

⁠Create a container with custom repositories for testing

1. Download the Grimoirelab repository:

cd /tmp
git clone https://github.com/chaoss/grimoirelab
cd grimoirelab

1. Build the default packages with persistent data:

RELEASE="X.Y.Z"
utils/build_grimoirelab --build --relfile releases/$RELEASE --dist docker/dist --reposdir /tmp/repos-$RELEASE --venv /tmp/env-$RELEASE

1. Download a repository and checkout to the branch to test. For example a fork of grimoirelab-sirmordred in a specific branch

cd /tmp/repos-$RELEASE
git clone https://github.com/<username>/grimoirelab-sirmordred -b <branch> <name-directory>
cd <name-directory>

1. Build the packages with the environment generated in 2 and store them in docker/dist of the repository cloned in 1:

  /tmp/env-$RELEASE/bin/python setup.py sdist --dist-dir=/tmp/grimoirelab/docker/dist/
  /tmp/env-$RELEASE/bin/python setup.py bdist_wheel --dist-dir=/tmp/grimoirelab/docker/dist/

1. Build the image:

cd /tmp/grimoirelab/
docker build -f docker/Dockerfile-installed -t cauldronio/grimoirelab:test-$RELEASE .

⁠Other Python versions

To create a image of Grimoirelab with another version of Python, edit the file Dockerfile-installed and change the line FROM:

FROM debian:stretch-slim

to

FROM python:3.7
