Host a standalone Clone Hero server in Docker
2.8K
Docker image I'm using to host a standalone server on my Unraid server.
This was adapted from https://hub.docker.com/r/corysanin/clone-hero-server. This repository was based on an older version of Clone Hero, so it was no longer compatible with the latest client (V1.0.0.4080).
I've never modified a Dockerfile and I have no documentation on how the Clone Hero server actually works, so I'm sure there are better ways to do what I have tried to accomplish. Rather than use Cory Sanin's method of downloading the latest server files, unzipping, and creating the image - I simply built it with the latest "Server" file copied into the image under /usr/src/clonehero. I also removed the "server_settings.ini" file from Cory's repository as there are only a couple settings to change, and instead opted to use environmental variables.
The ones that can be defined and/or modified include:
I didn't expose the port number (defaults to 14242) as I just wanted to get this working without being too fancy. I'm sure someone else can get it figured out if they really want to change it. This image also doesn't let any server settings other than these persist if the container gets reset, such as what are defined in the settings.ini file. You'd have to open a terminal into the container and modify these manually any time the container gets reset.
If the game gets updated to another version at some point in the future, I'll do my best to update this image and note it here. Otherwise I'll likely not add more functionality to this as I'm way out of my league already.
I hope you enjoy!
