⁠Example 1: Run version check in Java container

1. Run the Java container with the following command:

docker run --rm chrisipa/jdk -version

⁠Advanced topics

⁠Accept self signed SSL certificates from JRE

1. Create sub folder for trusted SSL certificates:

sudo mkdir -p /opt/ssl/trusted
sudo chown 1000.1000 /opt/ssl/trusted

1. Use OpenSSL⁠ to download the self signed certificate to trusted SSL certificates folder:

echo "GET /" | openssl s_client -connect my.host.com:443 | sed -ne '/-BEGIN CERTIFICATE-/,/-END CERTIFICATE-/p' > /opt/ssl/trusted/my-self-signed.crt

1. Run Java container with the commands above and mount folder for trusted SSL certificates:

-v /opt/ssl/trusted:/opt/ssl/trusted
